About us

Rev. Jaina Glaze, LPC

Jaina serves as our pastor. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education, Language Arts from Athens State University.  She received a Master of Divinity Degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Alabama, and an EdS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville State University. Jaina is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Alabama (license #4507) and has been in the ministry since 2005.  She has been at our church since early 2014.  Jaina offers counseling to the community as a fee-based service, and offers counseling free to members of First Presbyterian Church in Sheffield.

If she's not in the office, she can often be found in her pottery studio finding some Sabbath! If you have trouble finding her there then she is off somewhere with her amazing husband, Phillip! Jaina is a wife, a mom, a grandmother, and also always hopes to be a friend.

Oh yeah, if you see Jaina out and about and she doesn't seem to recognize you, it's likely her identical twin, Hannah!

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our faith is rooted in the belief of God's majesty, mercy, and role as the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer of all. We come together in response to God's call and prioritize listening to His voice over sharing our own thoughts and opinions. For more information on our beliefs, please refer to our denomination's Brief Statement of Faith by clicking here.

WORSHIP

At FPC Sheffield, we consider worship as the highest form of devotion to God. Our Sunday service, which starts at 11:00 am, is the highlight of our Christian week. You can expect a traditional service that includes a sermon, songs, prayers, and sacraments. Please feel at home and sign our guest book so we can get to know you better. Check our weekly bulletin for more information on our activities.
